More details following on from yesterday's reminiscence about the #TibStHorn [THREAD]
9th February 2017 permission granted to remove the horn to make way for 183 luxury flats. No room for unique art when there is floor space to maximise.

Planning permission was conditional on a strategy being written up and agreed between the Council and the developer. https://twitter.com/LozKaye/status/832902548226994182
8th August 2017 the Tib St Horn was removed into storage where it has apparently remained since. https://twitter.com/instruct/status/894586151415287808
Over the next 2.5 years our iconic gateway structure to the creative #NQ was cleared to make space for private development, flats locals can't afford and a small contribution for "off-site" [read: distant] affordable housing. https://twitter.com/BeardedGenius/status/893151264674119681
In October 2017 the Council claimed victory by "rescuing" the #TibStHorn that they themselves had first imperilled. With the promised relocation early in the new year. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/big-horn-return-northern-quarter-13837676
Planning was approved for relocation on 1st February 2018. Our new #PiccadillyWard councillors were first elected that May, promising to protect our unique heritage in the #NorthernQuarter.

So where is the #TibStHorn?
How do we stop further destruction in #NQ?
Or is this another example of attempting to govern by press releases?
What is the plan for spending the s.106 contributions?
When do residents get an update?

The best ode to the horn is written (of course) by @skylinermcr http://www.theskyliner.org/the-tib-street-horn
We miss being welcomed by the horn on our walks, showing off the city. It was an important reference point for many.
That is why we are calling on the Council to #BringBackTheBigHorn
