i looked at the upcat results from my high school and it's lower than last year :( every year it's getting increasingly difficult to get accepted into your desired course and campus. even if your upg is high, it won't matter if there are students who garnered a better percentage.
[tip for upcat takers]

1. research about other campuses aside from upd, upm and uplb because most applicants choose these campuses
2. take the dost scholarship exam
3. take all the university entrance exams that you can because they will serve as additional practice questions
4. be aware of quota and non-quota courses. it is more competitive for quota courses due to limited slots so check if you're interested in a non-quota course. this won't guarantee a slot but you have a higher chance of getting accepted.
5. if you get your upcat results and you haven't passed in either of the two campuses you chose, you can go to other up campuses to check if your upg is within the range they're willing to accept ✨ my cousin didn't pass upd and upm but he got accepted in uplb
6. if you are extremely talented in sports or arts, there are special exams for that where they will be able to gauge your abilities. you don't need to pass the upcat as long as you pass these exams.
7. i am currently in a course where we have transferees from other universities so even if you didn't pass upcat, get really good grades in your current university so that you can still transfer after your freshie year 😊
