“To the people who are destroying things, if you really feel like if you’re going to be an opportunistic, something is wrong w you.”—powerful, from a man that’s fighting the good fight. But I’d like to address something I hope you’d hear w a grain of salt.
I agree completely to the essence of this man’s speech. He sets an exhibit of difference between rioters & protesters. However, this is where journalists should have stood a pinpoint & filter. You can’t shy away from the fact.. that they’re subjective.
As morally right as he comes, he is not in neutral state on this rally. He’s on one side & what I’ve learned is that you don’t give the airtime fully on their control. Especially if it’s a live feed, you never know what’s coming or what would they say to a worldwide TV broadcast.
On video #2: 1.) He’s talking abt National Guard carrying assault rifles, it’s more likely for self defense. Why? National Guard protect the people, the police force protect the law. In that sense, the National Guard won’t follow an order to shoot its own people, that’s a fact.
(Cont’d) It’s actually part of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Geneva Convention. You will have service members take off their uniform before they follow an order to shoot at civilians. In fact, if you don’t follow an unlawful order you don’t get in trouble.
Even if the POTUS gives the order, that would land him in federal prison, as well as the soldier that took the order.

If anybody in the military shoots somebody, unless in self defense, they will land themselves in federal prison. That’s a fact.
2.) He mentioned about National Guard using suppressors to kill them in silence. But it doesn’t. Suppressors don’t make your gun anywhere near silent like in movies. Silencers primarily only suppress the noise due to the pressure wave from the rapidly expanding propellant gases..
..enough to make you use it without the need to wear ear protection. It can reduce the noise about 14.3-43 db, depends on various factors, such as the type of bullet, length of the barrel, etc. But that doesn’t make it radio silent, the surroundings can still hear it alright.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, the hardest part of covering protests & riots isn’t how to keep yourself safe, if you follow the protocol, you’re good to go, but it’s how to walk alongside the impartial truth. So give the airtime to those whose voices need representation..
..but know when to filter, to reconfirm, and when to stop. No matter how truthful they are, in the eyes of impartiality, their voices affected by the message they carry. So walk with them, but seek truth whenever you get the chance. This is an example of a civilized protester..
..there are 50:50 chances you’ll get them speak on live feed and halfway through they speak propaganda or messages they struggle to spread out. And boy was I have enough shares of this & I always feel like I haven’t done enough part to filter.
In conclusion, as viewers, in similar conditions we can do our part to remain courteous and civil. Take stand of what is morally right, and what is representing the sake of the People. But most importantly, take stand and always hungry for the truth, and the truth only.
