I promised myself that I’d delete Twitter this week.

I’ve since learned that inaction is action.

In the words of Martin Luther King Jr. ...

“Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.”

I cannot speak to the experience of a minority in America. I simply have not lived a day in those shoes. However, I do know one thing:

This country will never be great until we can overcome systemic hate and racism.

And we are lying to ourselves to say racism isn’t present.
There are too many people in this country that have to live in fear because of the color of their skin.

This is not OK.

Division should not be the new normal.

Before criticizing the actions of the brave people protesting across the U.S. I beg you to understand their purpose.
I have the words “Love Everybody” tattooed on my wrist and understand that we live in a nation that does not reflect those standards.

I hope I can someday raise my children in a world that does.
I often avoid becoming political on this app but just know this is not about party affiliation.

This is about morality.

We have a President who is simply a despicable symbol of hate and inhumanity. He acts without integrity, maturity, or leadership.

We must be better.
Change starts with a protest.

Change starts with a conversation with someone of a different background.

Change starts by taking a stand against injustice.

Change starts with a kneel.

Change starts in November.

Change starts with introspection.

Change starts with us.
We should recognize the compassion and courage in so many of today’s police officers, but also understand that there are years of systemic racism rooted in the foundation of America.

Not one of us is free until we all are. We hear you.

I encourage you to listen and empathize.
Love Everybody.
