Brandon is a recovering addict. His rage is against a system that has failed him.

But he has been led to believe that that system is the product of the people unlike him, and not the product of power and capital.

Brandon is someone we fight *for* even when he fights against us.

We have to remember this.

Maybe he himself can’t be saved, and his violence cannot be excused.

But we HAVE to address how we arrived at this place.

We cannot address white supremacy if we do not address the ways that it manifests in media, in culture, in everyday life.

We have to understand the ways white supremacy works and how it turns ordinary folks into violent actors on its behalf just through background noise.
