To be clear: *no one* deserves to be tear gassed, beaten, maimed, or unjustly detained. (I can't say that no one deserves to be heckled, but let's put that aside)
BUT if the fourth estate really is sacrosanct, @jaketapper, what is its biggest threat right now? I put this as a good faith question in a spirit of collegiality. Oh and I will probably have to keep adding to this thread.

(Sidebar: there’s a debate about what influence “enemies of the people” rhetoric has had here. I am in the middle. I know that police have attacked journalists in the past but targeting credentialed tv people has not been super common afaik)
