Thread: COVID + Brexit + Risk

There are many parallels between our responses to COVID and Brexit, but a key factor is our attitude to risk.

In both cases, half the country elected to play safe and avoid risk, in the belief that cooperation is a solution not an obstacle. 1/

The other half went for a lethal gamble, not only with their own lives, but with the lives of their families and friends and neighbours ... and the most vulnerable. For them, selfish individualism and inflated exceptionalism over-ride the commitment to joint endeavour. 2/
