Police associations in Australia are forever joining the ACTU or Trades Hall and then leaving a couple years later in a huff because they were criticised for beating up unionists. They may be workers, but they are structurally incapable of solidarity. They are scabs.
Police don’t just cross picket lines, they smash them. Allowing police associations to join trade union federations is like allowing the affiliation of a Strikebreakers’ Union. It is absurd bootlicking. Kick them out.
