Today I was asked to co-write an educational article on the basis of language and how it defines our identities.
I want to try and incorporate how living in a bilingual home and hearing two languages growing up has really formed my identity and who I am. Also I want to add how todays culture impacts language. We all speak different dialects based on our social economic status, race, gender.
We may still be speaking English. However a lot comes to play when we are talking about linguistics. Langue is the super power we all have and we don’t take advantage of it.
I’m starting this thread to see your take on language. How do you define language and what does it mean to you as a person?
