Twitter reminder: when engaging with assholes, they are trying to broadcast their hate & misinformation via your reach, mentions, viral threads.

Muting is giving them free & unmonitored access to your community. Refute their misinformation, block before they respond with more.

Clearly state that you are blocking the person. If others engage with the blocked person, you will see that, politely ask them to disengage and block the malicious actor to avoid giving that actor extended access to the threads to spread their misinformation.

If you see someone spreading misinformation blocked by an OP, do not engage with them, as you are giving them more access to OPs mentions to spread their hate.

Block and move on. Do not engage just to add that someone sucks - unless nobody has responded with facts, leave it be.
