we don’t have to wait until november for change to come to america, there are elected officials at every level who can change policy today. these demonstrations shouldn’t stop until change comes.
the mayors and city council members of every major city in america should be held accountable for the way that police move through their streets. hold their feet to the flame and demand that they change policy that protects violent police officers and upholds an unjust system.
state lawmakers should have pressure placed on them to scrutinize + cut ties with police unions. send back campaign contributions from them + other law enforcement groups, and pass laws ending qualified immunity. if there’s no legislative session in place, demand one ( #txlege).
this should not be allowed to stand. every level of leadership in the state of minnesota should be making moves to end this. not on primary day. not in november. now. keep the pressure on until it happens. https://twitter.com/btnewsroom/status/1266949503799701504
NOVEMBER 👏🏾 ISN’T 👏🏾 A 👏🏾 SILVER 👏🏾 BULLET 👏🏾. police brutality has been affecting scores of communities under every leadership imaginable! don’t think that politicians hands are tied until after november! they’re NOT. they can do something TODAY. it’s LITERALLY their job.
downballot officials are going to try to hide in the shadow of donald trump in an effort to evade taking responsibility for the rot that has continued to fester under their watch. don’t let them. presidents are not kings. they did not do this on their own.
perfect example of what i meant by this thread. we don’t have to wait until november for change to come to america.

when the amendment drops, call, email, and march for the passage of this amendment. call, email, and march for the demilitarization of the police. https://twitter.com/brianschatz/status/1267187603737964544
