Not to be that guy: but a reminder to Americans that in many countries of the world, this would be a “good day”. The sad truth is that dozens of countries live with endemic and merciless disease, a callous government murders dozens a day. And protests drag on for months or years.
I don’t say this to diminish the crises in the US. Only to hope that a year from now, when things are (hopefully) better here, the story in the paper—the nationwide protest entering its 3rd year, the government gunning down their 20th victim that day —evokes more empathy & action
That is to say: keep up the outrage. Others need it. You don’t have to give non Americans the same weight as Americans. Just don’t give them so little.
