Hi, everyone. I have several friends south of the border who are dear to me. I hope that they are safe - that during these fucked up times, that they can live their lives without being profiled or targeted by the police. (1/x)
But today I realized that& #39;s the way they& #39;ve been living every day for their whole lives. Police aren& #39;t suddenly just more violent or antsy. The bias was already there. They were in danger before. (2/x)
I selfishly posted my own music today to try and not put my head into this. To stay apolitical and keep things light. But I can& #39;t be silent anymore. I have to let the world know that there& #39;s at least one more voice of support. I care about you. (3/x)
I encourage others to do the same. If you don& #39;t know someone in danger, then stand for the friends of your friends who are. Behind every hashtag or outcry is a person who hasn& #39;t been heard. Hasn& #39;t been listened to. Has been treated like their problems are imaginary. (4/x)
I leave this thread open to others who would like to do the same. And rather than use my voice to push my own products and my own music for a while, I am going to help boost the voices of those who need to be heard instead. (5/5)
