listen...it’s 2020. Some of y’all just got here and I respect that. But I’m tired of people not taking accountability. I actively went and asked Tamil influencers in my community to speak about the issue of BLM and police brutality. Some had open and honest conversations.
Some didn’t. And in true fake outrage fashion, made it about themselves and painted a narrative so completely opposite of who I am while doing that. Imagine if we let our paid partnership money talk instead

People with platforms have a responsibility. I do not care if I hurt your feelings in the process of speaking out. I really don’t because there are literal lives at stake here. Shorty blocked all comments against her as well as my replies but kept the tik tok up
true allyship

Deleted the replies n posting her cutie little notebook on her story
online activism for the day complete! Someone tell her to find me when she’s ready so I can direct her to fundraisers

We have SA’s giving the green light to other SA’s on a #BLM post but an actual Black voice gets deleted???
It’s a new day and now alllllll the comments calling her out are gone. She’s deleted every Black n nb PoC’s comments instead of simply apologizing and setting the record straight. THIS is why I worry about true, and not performative, allyship within our (n every other) community
But this thread and most importantly, Deya, is over n done wit. Support Black businesses and choose how you spend your money/time wisely. A lot of ppl don’t really care-spot who they are. It’s not that hard either.
