Things I learned from @AndrewYang;
The US has a large rural white population that came up fed on the American Dream of endless opportunity (we all watched Feivel Goes West), but came into adulthood to find that, actually, they had little chance at any meaningful upward mobility.
Few jobs are available in tiny and dying hometowns, so it’s impossible to save anything to move to the cities, where, even if they could get there, they’d find rent and commodity prices atrocious.

But they don’t realize that.
“Liberal” cities are seen as bastions of a hateful population majority that siphons rural tax dollars and provides no recompense.

They don’t realize that those cities are also falling apart: crumbling infrastructure; surging homeless populations. Miserable citizens.
And the rural white poor narrative has now often come to blame the urban brown poor; targeting fellow citizens as the root of their issues rather than the institution that has OPENLY AND RUTHLESSLY EXPLOITED EVERY POC COMMUNITY FOR CENTURIES 🤦‍♀️
It’s manufactured division, and it’s just how the overlords love it.

There’s not a soul in DC that wasn’t propelled there by dirty money. And the chokehold they and the lobbyists have on the American people is strong.

So where do we go from here?
