Look at these images. Who scares you more? Oppression dresses in riot gear. Injustice drives military vehicles. Tear gas, rubber bullets and state-sponsored aggression isn’t peaceful.

I’ve deleted so many tweets today. I don’t know what to say other than what these protests are making abundantly clear. Black lives matter. People are fed up. Our leadership is failing, losing legitimacy by the minute.

Our fellow citizens are being maced, beaten, run over by cars, shot by projectiles, intimidated by billions in military-grade weaponry. They’re being killed. And they’re standing up and saying, “No more!” They are the heroes.

Be safe in the streets tonight. People >>> power.

These tweets don’t mean shit, of course. Time to do the work, not talk about the work that needs to be done. To start, I’ll be opening my wallet tonight. If you’ve found an organization or cause that deserves my support, please reply here.

Wanna come in my mentions talking about looting? Let’s talk about the systemic and government-sponsored looting of African-American communities for centuries (and ongoing). What’s peaceful about that? But for sure, some designer bags are sacrosanct.
