Mostly here to listen, but also trying to reflect on current events in a way that is useful & meaningful. I think there needs to be some caution around Indigenous colonised peoples outside the US talking about police brutality in our own communities vs coopting Black struggles.
Context matters and there needs to be room for discussions about what does meaningful solidarity look like, and coherent analysis of global white supremacy and colonialism without being reductive and creating false equivalencies.
I know this is not at all straight forward, especially across national boundaries and vast physical and cultural divides, but some of the discourse highlights why inter-community organising and solidarity building cannot began and end during crisis (if we want to be effective).
