Chelsea’s objective is to win the English Premier League. When debating whether you want Chelsea to sign a player, consider this question. Will they be Premier League winning quality? The answer to that should be the same answer to whether you would like Chelsea to sign them.
The argument they could rotate shouldn’t generally not be considered. Clubs looking to improve sign first team players and demote their current starters to the bench, it’s the only way to improve. Especially for Chelsea whose academy is strong enough to provide sufficient depth.
When it comes to first team signings, also consider their price and are there any better alternatives. Also look at what role is required in that system and whether they are a good fit as well as their age based on our squad. 25> preferably.
In terms of current players, consider the question for whether they deserve to start or not. If their answer is no, consider whether they are good enough to bench for Chelsea. If the answer is no sell ASAP.
If the answer is yes, consider their transfer value, are their any interested clubs, other players in their position, tactical versatility, leadership skills and do we have a player from the academy that can do the same job for cheaper with potential to become a starter.
If a sale makes sense, despite them being good enough to rotate for the first team elect to sell, it not elect to keep. This way Chelsea can build a squad that can compete league titles whilst simultaneously still having maximum financial value.
If you follow this criteria during player debates, I can guarantee you will generally have good opinions.
