For all the protestors, pepper spray is oil based. If you get sprayed DO NOT rub your eyes. Immediately blink as much as you can to wash out some of the oil with your own tears. Then, wash your eyes with baby shampoo and rinse copiously with water. Be safe.
Obviously, remove contacts immediately if you get sprayed. Some kind of safety glasses or goggles would be great if you have them (protect against tear gas as well)
Lots of people asking about using milk. Milk will help with the burning, but it’s not that effective at removing the oils. You need detergent for that. Baby shampoo, diluted dishwashing soap, etc.
Keep in mind that these kinds of chemical injuries always require more irrigation than you think, it’s not uncommon to need 1 liter or more of water/saline. A 20 ounce bottle won’t cut it. Find more water.
