Don't tell me there are not plants inciting violence. I just witnessed this in Nashvillle a few hours ago.
After a peaceful rally in Nashville I witnessed a White man aggressively approach a Black man who appeared to be unhoused. The Black man kept backing away yelling GET BACK, GET BACK. You could hear the fear in his voice.
The aggressor continued to pursue the man who appeared to be unhoused for a distance as he kept yelling &pleading for the aggressor to stay back. A 3rd man ran up to save the guy by punching the aggressor so the presumably unhoused man could get away-Meanwhile I'm screaming help
The aggressor laid on the street for way too long (as though he was dead or seriously injured). Security came out to help. She only saw the punch & not what led up to it. She called the police. I was still screaming help. I was terrified the aggressor would kill the unhoused man.
After it seemed safe I went to the security guard to let her know I witnessed it & would like to speak to the police. The aggressor realized she wasn't the police & got up as though nothing was wrong (after laying there like he was almost dead for what seemed at least 10 mins)
The aggressor began to berate the security guard and demean her about her weight. I was standing behind him flagging for her to not engage. I was afraid he would hurt her. Thankfully her co-worker came out to make sure she was safe. She didn't understand what was happening.
After berating her for a few more moments he got in his car and drove off....as if nothing happened.
So to be clear after pursuing a man who was minding his business & getting rightfully knocked out he played dead while waiting for the police. After he realized security wasn't police he berated the Black woman security guard (never addressing her white male co-worker) &drove off
His intentions were clear. He wanted it to look like a protester/Rally attendee randomly assaulted him & that is exactly what others who didn't see him chasing the unhoused man thought. He was waiting on the police to file a report. He was playing victim when he was the aggressor
