to all my long beach locals attending tomorrow, please be loud but also safe! know exactly how to read the situation and act accordingly. if you’re unsure, here’s some advice:
- although this is a peaceful protest, things can go sideways very quickly. wear what you are comfortable getting damaged! running shoes, jeans, long sleeves, gloves, no jewelry, hair tied up, head covered w a mask or bandana, black is the go to color!!!!!
- let someone who is not in the area know where you are! if you are going with friends, decide a mutual meeting spot just in case you get separated. write an emergency contact on your body just in case your belongings get snatched!
- carry the correct supplies! no eye contacts, wear your glasses! cover your nose, head, mouth. portable charger, cash and change, leave your debit cards and anything valuable at home. water water water and more water.
- the more layers the better! avoid leggings, ladies. stray away from logos like adidas or nike, anything that is easily identifiable. make sure everything is strapped to your body! no over the shoulder bags, backpacks!
- DO NOT POST ON SOCIALS. stray away from it. airplane mode is your best friend tomorrow! be careful of how you represent yourself bc we all still got jobs to go back to!
if anyone needs help with anything, please let me know! don’t be afraid to turn to your neighbor tomorrow for help. we are all here for a reason and that is for JUSTICE! #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFlyod
one more thing, please don’t vandalize long beach residents properties. that is not our goal! do not touch something that someone has worked so hard for!!!!!!!
and don’t forget we are still in the middle of a pandemic!!!!! don’t touch your eyes, face, nose, mouth. hand sanitizer and keep distance if you can!!!!!
