A protest in Memphis is underway for the 4th night in a row, starting at the @NCRMuseum.

All the protests this week have been peaceful.

“If you’re here and you’re white, can we have real conversations tonight?” - Activist Devante Hill
Some signs I found out here tonight. – at National Civil Rights Museum
Organizers have extra masks and are making sure every person has a mask to wear.

The size of the group has grown. The stated goal of the night is to have conversations to impact meaningful change. – at National Civil Rights Museum

A little chaos and yelling broke out when one man took the loud speaker and said the white people in the group should move to the back because this should be a movement led by black people.

Organizer Devante Hill tried to move everyone away from the man instigating.
The group has started marching. The took a knee in the intersection of S Second Street and Vance Street for 9 minutes, the same amount of time a Minneapolis office had his knee in George Floyd’s neck.

The group is continuing to march, momentarily blocking traffic as they go.
The group has stopped at the Clayborn Temple. The man who caused some arguments before spoke again, asking people to go to the “financial district” to do a sit in the nearest intersection.
Protesters are reading a list of demands or things they want to happen in the City of Memphis.

Protesters have taken another knee after turning up Poplar.

They are heading in the direction of the Hernando DeSoto Bridge that protesters shut down in 2016.
The group has turned. Instead of heading toward the I-40 Hernando DeSoto Bridge, they turned on Adams.

For the first time I see officers wearing helmets. They’re still keeping their distance, no interaction with the crowd. It’s remained a peaceful protest thus far #Memphis
Now a smaller group has broken off from the larger protest, turned up Union Avenue and says they’re going toward the bridge. I’m following them and will provide updates.
The group did not go to toward the bridge. They are walking through traffic on Front Street. #Memphis #GeorgeFloyd
All the groups have rejoined and appear to be heading back to the @NCRMuseum #GeorgeFloydprotest #Memphis
