Hey, so, as a black AC twitter, I wasn& #39;t gonna say anything at all. Black Lives Matter, ACAB, cosigned, FACTS, no debate but like, do you mind if I share an opinion? It& #39;s not a problematic opinion, it& #39;s just about how a lot of white people are talking about this on this site(1/?)
The first thing I saw on here was everyone, and a lot of white people, saying "there& #39;s no excuse not to talk about it! I& #39;d better see you talk about it! Everyone needs to, you& #39;d better not be silent!" And being black and an AC twt and having nothing to prove I was like k (2/?)
But then some people with nothing to say started talking, like, absolute clownery. The performative nonsense, the weird white kids with like, BLM make-up jobs and in-game monuments that had nothing to do with anything, and then that stayed happening (3/?)
And of course those people got absolutely decimated on here for being performative (which they were, no doubt) BUT LIKE... if there& #39;s already this expectation of social repercussions for NOT talking, then even people who SHOULDN& #39;T talk will talk, if that makes sense (4/?)
I& #39;m saying that, to some extent, making some huge deal about white allies being performative (if you& #39;re also white) is ALSO performative! Some people just have nothing to say! They stay playing AC and being harmless, whatever. Don& #39;t encourage them to act foolish (5/?)
And then punish them for being fools! Let people stay in their lanes. And yeah, like, real world issues are WAY more important than AC, but some spaces are for certain things for certain people. Not that we should ignore it or block ppl with good takes for speaking truth, (6/?)
BUT, I don& #39;t need a white teen to remind me that I "don& #39;t have a safe space." I& #39;d like to, so I& #39;m trying to! I support y& #39;all for talking, but respect those who aren& #39;t comfortable or have nothing worthwhile to add. (7/?)
And you know what else? People are also saying "if you& #39;re white, DON& #39;T be silent, but DON& #39;T make your own posts, you have to DONATE AND PROTEST, but if DON& #39;T post if protest for your safety and DON& #39;T POST if you donate cuz you just want a cookie" and it& #39;s like (8/?)
Yo this community is a bunch of mentally ill 20-smths and teens, like, what the heck are they even supposed to do? I& #39;m glad we& #39;re good at taking out the trash, but I& #39;m worried that our definitions of trash are getting muddier by the day (9/10)
So with THAT rant out of the way, I& #39;mma go back to my OWN lane because other black people have already said everything more eloquently. Justice for George Floyd (and everyone else murdered by
