When I respond to constituents, I generally mirror how much effort they put into their communication. So a mass-produced email will get the least attention and a direct call to me gets the most. (2/6)
If you have a question about a legislator’s policy position, first call the main office. If they cannot answer your question, ask to talk to the staffer responsible for your specific legislative issue. (3/6)
That will put you through to someone like me, and if I can’t answer your question, ask for a call or email back when I do have a response and my direct email address or phone number to check in. (4/6)
I am paid through taxpayers. My boss was democratically elected to serve YOU. The best way to get a legislator to formulate and verbalize their position is by asking for it. Get an answer from me. (5/6)
And, if my answer is unsatisfactory, ask to get a call from the legislator themself explaining their position.
