I am planning to tweet tomorrow both in support of the BLM movement & @BTS_twt. It is not possible to shut down the joy people will have in celebrating Festa & I don't believe it's right to punish those who want to express moments of happiness. Without balance we are not human.

If you do not agree with this I understand; you are welcome to mute me if you would prefer not to see my tweets. Everyone is free to do as they feel is right. But this fight is not going to be finished in a weekend, & we need to be able both to mourn & celebrate as time goes on.

We have had days not just of the disturbing situation in the world, watching black Americans hurt & fighting for their rights, but as a fandom we are also dealing with ongoing attempts to damage the mental health and security of the members. We need to be able to fight this, too.

I'm not at all saying we have to trend hts. I'm simply suggesting if you see people celebratinf, or if we accidentally trend a word/words, it would be better to allow people a moment of joy after days of sadness, rather than berate them. Let's try to support each other.

No one has to join me in this. And, again, I truly understand if you do not wish to engage with anything other than current events in the US. But I honestly believe we can both continue to support BLM and BTS without compromising either.

If you are truly uncomfortable with posting anything here, then I would suggest that you post instead on Weverse to support the members.

Please consider; this is their seventh anniversary, they have been through so much disappointment this year, & they too need encouragement.

I would also, respectfully, like to remind US ARMYs that this fandom is not isolated in the US. While support from International Army has been amazing, it also feels inappropriate to require them to be silent & only focus on issues caused by the shameful condition of our country.

This fandom is at times a place of conflict, and at other moments a place of incredible and beautiful solidarity. But I believe we are always best when we find a way to balance the difficult things with the joyful ones. I hope that we can find that balance as Festa begins.
