From my understanding, when the officers walked Floyd outside Cup Foods whilst under arrest, they attempted to seat him inside the police vehicle (I assume to take him to custody, which is a reasonable outcome given the potential crime committed)
Whilst this was happening, Floyd was resisting arrest and was restrained on the ground. Normal procedure would have been arms and legs to prevent attacking and standing, I'm not a police officer so I'm not 100% sure. I believe this is where Chauvin rested his knee on Floyd's neck
As unfortunate an outcome as happened, at the very least there is now a reason behind it which is something I've been looking for. I am still NOT justifying Chauvin's actions, I think he went a step too far especially at Floyd's pleas not being able to breath
I can, however, justify the other 2 officers holding down his arms and legs based on this new evidence as that would be typical procedure for restraining someone, from what I'm aware of. Chauvin should not have, nor was required to, intervene if Floyd was already restrained
The only duty the other 3 officers should have done during this restraint was stop Chauvin resting on Floyd's neck. Despite this, I do not believe the other 3 officers are directly responsible in Floyd's death and, therefore, they could go without charge in this case.
And this will be the last thing I will be making a long tweet about this entire matter. I am happy to respond to replies to this thread, but I'm not making a main tweet about this again.
