Seen a lot of mutuals talking about unproducitve conversations regarding the Esports Degrees. Let me get this out of the way, that tweet was incredibly short sighted and incorrect.

Now the productive part:
A degree is piece of paper that say "I've completed this course material to this level of competency" which is an acknowledgement of your understanding of your chosen subject and shows a commitment to learning and self-development which is admirable in any walk of life.
With the above in mind. Your choice of degree will never be harmful, if you know how to correctly apply the skills and knowledge that you have gained by completing the course.
As I'm sure most of the enrolled students know, your extra-curricular activities, demonstrable skills and portolio will carry your career forward. To that end, how do you build these:
. @nse_gg has a database of all esports societies in the UK. Get invovled, show commitment, learn skills, meet like minded people and potentially future colleagues.
They, alongside @ESLUK and @IntelUK operate FutureGen. Which recently hosted guest talks with industry experts, providing advice and personal insight in how they got ahead. I recommend checking them out. https://www.twitch.tv/nse_gg/videos
. @HitmarkerJobs lists volunteer opportunities. If you need to get demonstrable experience, there may be opportunities there. Do not let yourself be taken advantage of. If you don't see value in the experience gained, do not work forgoing compensation. https://hitmarker.net/jobs?contract=volunteer
I personally got my start by volunteering with @theNUEL as a League of Legends commentator. They have expanded to have paid roles and their current and former volunteers and staff are all over the place in the esports workforce.
For those of you who can't get into the esports industry straight away, don't despair. Seek employment in a similar role in a larger industry with more jobs available. Then come into the space with you experience, and better the industry while hitting your career goals.
Reach out to the people with the job you want. Will they always answer? No. But if 1% of them do, you need to be asking a 1,000 people to get the help of 10.

Someone will. People progressed without degrees through shared knowledge. Thank you for coming to my TriddTalk.
