PS/ Protests against police brutality haven't historically featured animus toward journalists, who are usually critical instruments for activists who want to get their message out. On the contrary, the violent fringe of the Trumpist movement hates journalism and CNN specifically.

PS2/ Trump/Barr have made pretty clear that their plan is to ensure that only black people/left-wing activists will be blamed for what's going on right now, no matter what happens. That creates a massive umbrella under whose darkness Trumpists may feel they can act with impunity.

PS3/ Again, I don't know. I don't *claim* to know. No one should—yet. And of course the anger and hurt stemming from the murder of George Floyd is 100% real, and is understandably being expressed. But the evidence is gathering that something more is happening here than just that.
