Protesters are out again today.

I got here about 3:15 p.m. Cars are moving through the intersection of 47th Street and JC Nichols Parkway again, honking in support.

Former councilman Terry Riley is here with his 13-year-old son.

“They just want to come out here and let their voices be heard,” Riley said. “We want to keep the attention on it. They just don& #39;t want it to go away, you know, after a weekend.”

Protesters are on the march on JC Nichols Parkway, chanting “Black Lives Matter.”

An ambulance just honked seemingly in support.

Also, many of the KCPD officers I’ve seen are starting out in some of the heavier gear they waited until later yesterday to put on.
Someone is playing @Beyonce’s “Freedom.”

They walked down JC Nichols Parkway on the sidewalk, but have now spilled out onto the street.
Officers have sprayed protesters. Police have taken one man, put his hands behind his back and put him in a police car.
Another man has been taken away by officers. Protesters are back by the fountain.
I can’t hear what she is saying from here, but police have again given one of the protesters a loudspeaker to talk to the crowd with.

At 6:20 p.m., people were throwing water bottles and police again used spray.

Chants of “I can’t breathe” are continuing.

I have counted 10 people who were led away by police.
I’m counting 14 people who have been led away now. Pepper spray has been used repeatedly against protesters.

Water bottles are all over the other side of the street.

Several officers are also wearing gas masks now.
Protesters pour milk on the face of someone who was sprayed.

Several containers of bottled water are all over the fountain area, with signs saying “Please Take!”
Protesters are on the move again on JC Nichols Parkway. Hundreds of people are moving through the area and people are beginning to spill out on the street again.

They’re chanting, “Whose street?” “Our street.”
