Something I keep thinking about is how after these protests end and everybody goes back to their “normal” lives, black people are still going to have live through the trauma of what happened this week all while still having to continue to endure racism and prejudice that are so/
Ingrained in our institutions and society.
After these protests black people are still going to have to face the realities of the injustices that aren’t being publicized.
After these protests black people are going to have to be dealing with the possibility of dying from COVID/
because it’s been proven time and again that black people do not get adequate medical treatment as our white counterparts.
White people have the luxury of picking up their things, going home, and resting without having to fear whether they’re gonna be the next hashtag.
However, we must acknowledge that although white people are not currently facing oppression, they are dealing with a federal government that doesn’t care about their health and well being.
Millions of Americans are unemployed. Millions are sick.
These are all things we’re gonna have to deal with after these protests are over.
I’m really not exactly sure why I even made this thread but I just want y’all to know I’m ready to support y’all in any way I can because there’s still a lot waiting on us.
