I keep thinking of ways celebs can participate in the protesting instead of sitting in their homes pontificating. I should start a thread...
First based on @robinwannabefly tweet. Go to Office Depot or somewhere open, print off thousands of ‘these are black owned businesses’ signs and go pass them out in black neighborhoods before places close for the evening to put up. Ask on social media who wants some.
Celebs. Uhh Water. Go buy water and go pass them out to protesters. Not only does it show solidarity and support with your visibility, it’s the end of May. Summer begins in 3 weeks. Go spend a couple hundred on cases of water. Like hello?!
Uhh go set up a base camp of supplies. Bandaids/first aid kits, milk, baking soda and water for tear gas, MASKS AND BANDANNAS, poster board for signs, snacks. Play some music, encourage ppl. Spend your money supporting
All these celebs have attorneys. Call up your attorney friends, esp those in criminal defense and say hey, I’ll support you or compensate or whatever if you take on 5 arrested protesters. Boost it on social media. Pay the bonds. Donate to the bail bonds.
Go to the beginning of approved marches and buy up a bunch of permanent markers and encourage ppl to write on themselves somewhere that won’t rub off and they can easily access numbers of family and attorneys in case of an arrest. Visibility and encouragement
Organize protests in your expensive neighborhoods. Celebs too often are okay with protests being in city centers/low income areas bc they don’t want their stuff possibly ruined. But isolating your community from the communities that are struggling continues the class divide
