To my fellow Nebraskans with crappy takes on protests:

In 2014 during a tailgate before the Miami game at “the rez,” students damaged a bus, climbed on top of it, and chanted “Flip the bus.” When police engaged, students threw bottles and cans at them and damaged cruisers.

This was incited when people didn’t want to let the bus in to their assigned spot because they would have to move from their own. People assumed the bus was full of Miami fans (it wasn’t). The police did not respond with riot gear and lethality.

This is ALL it took to incite a riot in Lincoln, Nebraska. There are times to consider the world and people’s perspectives with empathy and humility. Take your superiority complex elsewhere. If you’re not mad, it doesn’t affect you. Step up.
