White people promoting your shops/art/books/work in the context of what& #39;s happening in the US right now: What the actual fuck are you doing?
I saw one person do this yesterday and then immediately delete their posts and apologize when they realized what they did, that& #39;s respectable imo. All the rest of you: wtf is your excuse for this shameless and relentless self-promotion???
To clarify, if you& #39;re promoting your work without attaching it to the events taking place rn, fine, whatever. It& #39;s the people who are like "hey what& #39;s happening in the US is bunk so read my book/listen to my song/buy my art and I& #39;ll donate proceeds." Just donate your earnings fk
This thread is not meant to be a subtweet, btw. There are literally just SO MANY of you that I don& #39;t have the capacity to contact you all individually and have private conversations.
I totally understand feeling helpless when you& #39;re poor, immobile, isolating, etc. but there are better ways to lend a hand. Start a thread of Black creators who people can support, RT crowdfunds, follow Black activists and RT aid calls, etc.
