Do you know that purchasing a flood title car is a sure way of giving yourself headache and ultimately, hypertension? I’ll be giving 5 WAYS to avoid buying a flood title car.
1. Check the full CARFAX Vehicle History Report to check for reported flood damage or signs of salvage title fraud. Use this website http://www.carfax.com
2.Check the trunk, Take out the spare tire and check for moisture or sitting water. While there is a slight chance of a bad seal around the trunk lid, water or debris found in the trunk area is a good sign that your potential purchase went for a swim. Run 🏃‍♀️
3. Check for Rust around doors, under the dashboard, on the pedals or inside the hood and trunk latches. If you notice rust under the car . Please drop everything you are doing and run
Another sign is Mud or silt in the glove compartment or under the seats and Fog or moisture beads in the interior lights, exterior lights or instrument. Avoid cars like this.
Lastly, look inside the wheel wells. If you can see sand and dirt gathered at a constant level, almost like a dirt ring in a filthy bathtub, you have a good reason to believe the car was sitting in flood waters. If you want peace of mind however, buy from @autogirlng
