Just had a great conversation with my dad. I think he’s upset about racism but numb to it. He heads the medical imaging dept. for a major hospital. He has a large staff and has been there for almost 15 years. He told me white female patients grab their purse when he comes in.
He also spoke to several patients not wanting to be treated by him and often requesting his white employees to treat them. Can you imagine that someone trying to save your life and you won’t let them because they are black.

So he does all this good, probably the nicest man you will ever meet and just because he’s black patients clutch, their purses, demand to be seen by his white employees and ask to speak with his manager - when he’s the boss. This is racism in America.
Then we get to talking about my grandma Josie and he told me how she used to clean houses and cook for white families when she was in Mississippi. He also told me she used to have to breastfeed their children. I’m like what?! I’ve never heard that before now I have to call her
