I've been sitting with the horrific events of this week (and this month, and this lifetime). I usually do not post about racism because I haven't wanted to be a white person who posts on social media to express anger or sadness without taking action offline as well.
After listening to friends & other voices I respect, I've learned that this is partially a way of avoiding & not taking responsibility for amplifying the injustice of these unconscionable actions.

I cannot imagine what it must feel like to live each day in fear for your life and the life of your friends and loved ones.

To constantly have to orient yourself to a hostile world...
Racism, like economic hoarding, is a symptom of a diseased society — we talk of white privilege, but it is actually a sign of deep sickness and we are all worse off as a result.

I, too, am infected by this disease.
Here are some actions I commit to taking (feedback welcomed as I learn):
1) the next book I read will be How to Be Antiracist by @DrIbram
2) donate to organizations working on racial equity, anti-racism, and economic reparations
If you are part of a faith community or community organization, consider bringing in Dr. David Campt to do a training (he's excellent): https://www.whiteallytoolkit.com/

If you work at a foundation, family office, or investment firm, have @VillanuevaEdgar speak to your staff and clients

And to end, this thread from @rklau so I/we can remember (and learn) the names of those who, in a different system that was not intentionally built to oppress and erase, would still be with us: https://twitter.com/rklau/status/1266056230939660288?s=20
