Ughhh I get that "peaceful protest" is something that ytppl love to see bc it's calming to think that change happens when people behave themselves, but that rhetoric is what allows the powerful to become more powerful and keep us all under their boots.
Much of the lore behind civil rights movements has been rewritten by yts to calm future revolutions. A government has to fear its people in order for change to happen. It's just kind of neccesary for revolution.
Like I hate to say "violence is the answer" because it's not the "answer" but it's the INEVITABLE reaction of an oppressed majority.
I think people forget that society and the government are supposed to serve us. This is societies way of correcting the course and distributing justice to the much smaller oppressive class.
(just wish it was billionaires on the receiving ends instead of their buildings)
like to alot of you Target is a symbol of where you go to buy toilet paper or something but Target is also a symbol of the consolidation of power, the death of competition, underpaid workers, etc.
i guess to put it in a way that white ppl will understand, they're always talking about "voting for the lesser of two evils", well in this case the two choices are "violent oppression" or "violent revolution". Which are you voting for?
