As a Canadian entertainer I usually don't comment on American news. I'm not worried about losing a chunk of my audience, I'm way more concerned about embarrassing myself by taking a position on stuff I feel ignorant and unqualified to talk about. (con't)

However it is clear to me in a situation like this that that feeling is an unfair luxury. What happens in America can happen up here, and moreover the way we respond to it influences how people feel and talk about it online moving forward so there is a prerogative to speak up.

I don't really have a great, punctuated statement to tie my feelings together except to say I am disgusted at the situation that has led to the protests and if you are more offended with property damage than the brutal loss of life that precipitated it, why is that?
