Let’s break down the statement Dawn Frederick, Founder of Red Sofa Literary, has posted on her website:
First, after reading the statement, the first thing I did was double check her tweet so I can ensure I DIDN’T misunderstand something:
So, she doesn’t say she’s calling the cops on protestors. But, here’s the thing, she made it plenty clear that she values property over life. She said it multiple times in the thread that she cared about the property. About the gas station. Just keep that in mind.
Let’s look at another one of her tweets, shall we?
In the photo above, the agent (Frederick) & conservative author—as noted in her bio—(Seekai) discuss the need for the NATIONAL GUARD bc a Walgreens’ store was in trouble. They also talk about nothing of the city being left. The absence of the mention of protestors is loud.
For an agent who’s been in the business for quite some time, it’s not hard to believe that she was able to spin this into her only caring for the good of her community.
She is ignorant if she’s pretending that the people at the gas station weren’t taking part in a form of protest. She is ignorant if she thinks the same for the Walgreens. And she’s using the privilege of white women to be presumed innocent to spin this to her advantage.
It’s been pointed out that this thread is a bit all over the place, and yeah, reading over it now, it is. I apologize. I’ll be mindful of that in the future. Moreover +
I stand by what I’ve said about Agent Frederick based on her statement & with her tweet, specifically the one regarding the National Guard, in mind. She’s using using her privilege as a white woman to spin this to her advantage. Do not let her. Do not let any one.
