Non-black ARMYs who live outside the US might feel very confused right now. You see black people protesting, looting, and burning down buildings. And you might think "Why are black people so violent? What they do is wrong! They are scary!" +

You might even think "If they behave like that, then its no wonder that white police officers end up killing them! They are dangerous!". If you think that way: STOP! This is how people with racial prejudices think! +

Instead of evaluating the whole situation you are attributing the visible violence as personal traits of ALL black people. And that is wrong. You have to understand that they live in a dangerous environment. They experience discrimination, exclusion, mistreatment on a daily basis
They've seen their grandparents and parents suffer under the same conditions their brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren still suffer today! And they just can't take the injustice anymore and burst out. This is what you need to keep in mind when you see the pics and vids
You don't have to say that looting and destroying is good. But you need to show empathy and understand why this is sometimes the only possible way to react. Anger is the right reaction to injustice! By supporting #BLACK_LIVES_MATTER you do not support violence! +
You acknowledge the pain of the people and you acknowledge that this is wrong and change needs to happen! We all want to live in peace and prosperity and we all have to work together to achieve that. This is not a black people's issue this concerns all of us!+ #BLACK_LIVES_MATTER
Do what you can do to show your support. Protest, donate, educate yourself, question your own biases, talk to your family and friends, vote! This world can only be a better place if we work together to lift each other up!
