We the students of IITG have been complaining to the administration for the past one year regarding various issues, each time we were given a half baked reason.
@PMOIndia @HRDMinistry @DrRPNishank @IITGuwahati @DirectorIITG
But now they have gone beyond reason, despite the fact that feedback revealed most students wouldn't be able to give the examination, they have forcefully implemented the end semester examination and policy of I grade to be give to those who are unable to appear for it.
This is biased against the underprivileged students in these tough times . The administration is fixated on conducting the exams just to satisfy their ego. Attached below is a reply by one of the students. This just goes to show
the classist and authoritarian nature of the IITG administration. To them the pandemic is just a game to possibly test out a few childish theories rather than being concerned about the situation of the students. The students reply is indicative
of the situation that many other students find themselves in. But this is nothing to the administration as they are fixated on flexing our capabilities to conduct online examinations. And all of this for what? Just for a silly PR stunt. I hope the administration realises
that their decisions are partially responsible for the increasing number of suicides at IITG. I hope they also realise that things like these are the reason that no alum wants to make donations to IITG, because the feelings of love for the institute cannot be fostered like this.
I know this tweet won't make much of a difference but atleast there needs to be an outlet for the dissent. I hope if this reaches the right authorities, the voice of reason shall prevail.
