A brief thread about justice vs. peace, from a Christian perspective

Christians, first and foremost, we are citizens of the kingdom of God and we canât allow Godâs kingdom to become âliberalâ or âconservative.â
Jesus is our Lord and Scripture (the whole counsel of it) is our platform.
Jesus is our Lord and Scripture (the whole counsel of it) is our platform.
So, about justice and peace, look at these two COMPLEMENTARY words from the Lord...
[Matthew 5:9] âBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.â
[Jeremiah 6:14] âThey dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. âPeace, peace,â they say, when there is no peace.â (study this in its context)
[Jeremiah 6:14] âThey dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. âPeace, peace,â they say, when there is no peace.â (study this in its context)
Christians, please donât pit these two against each other.
Peace is the GOAL.
Justice is a PREREQUISITE MEANS to peace.
We see this most clearly in the Gospel.
Peace is the GOAL.
Justice is a PREREQUISITE MEANS to peace.
We see this most clearly in the Gospel.
We have peace with God only to the extent that the justice demanded by our sin has been satisfied in Christ and affirmed in our repentance.
We were guilty, but...
(and this is crazy. Iâll shout just thinking about it

)
...the peace we now have with God makes Him HAPPY!
We were guilty, but...

...the peace we now have with God makes Him HAPPY!
Once the demands of justice were met, He GLADLY, not begrudgingly, welcomes us friends and family rather than enemies.
So...
So...
To those who are calling for peace, are you willing to work for justice?
And to those who are working for justice, are you eager to make peace?
