I think the biggest underlying problem with telling Black Americans to leave America and “come home” nobody is talking about, is that when they move to various African countries, they’re going to be shocked to discover the general accepted response to injustice is to keep quiet.
This doesn’t mean we don’t have protests and riots in Africa.

We do.

But it’s a huge cultural shock to live in a place where something profoundly unjust happens to you, and when you cry out about it, your cry will be met with “Ehen? Are you the first person it’s happened to?”
So I know on the surface looking at what’s going on in America it sounds well intentioned to say “Come home”

Yes, home lacks racism for the most part and it is a huge relief, but home is also full of all sorts of injustice that people in America have never seen and can’t imagine
So come home to Africa if you want to escape racism, but be aware you are coming to a place that is full of fun and love and freedom and laughter, but also a place where you will see slavery with your own two eyes, state sanctioned murder, class oppression, and nobody will care.
Africa is not some Wakandan utopia where oppressed black people in America can escape to and live happily ever after.

Dearly beloved, what Africa lacks in racism, it makes up for in spades with classism, imperialism, religious and cultural oppression so be careful what you wish.
The other gigantic elephant in the room nobody seems to want to talk about is when a person moves permanently from America to Africa (let me use Nigeria as an example)

After the honeymoon period, they will be forced into their level in the class system, and they may not like it.
America for all their complaints about inequality is actually a very equal country.

In America you can address most people by their first name, walk up to people and talk to them regardless of position etc

Most people in America generally believe everyone is equal

Enter Africa
Are you prepared to live in a society where most people on average DO NOT believe everyone is equal?

A society where in some places children still get slapped for looking adults in the eye?

A society where you are nobody if your parents are nobodies?

It’s a huge cultural shock
I just think it’s a simplistic suggestion because there is a psychological toll to pay

It doesn’t mean Black Americans shouldn’t move to Africa to escape racism, but it means you have to move with your eyes open and make a fully informed decision about the place you’re moving to
