Wasn't going to use Twitter this weekend but feel it's important to acknowledge. I have always believed that actions speak louder than words, I have argued w my own parents often that going to Church weekly doesn't make you a good person, it's in your daily thoughts & actions 1/2
So I may not be on Twitter yelling because it's honestly just the same as going to Church weekly without daily actions and thoughts to support one's beliefs. Last night gathered around our family dinner table with our teens we had a very honest dialogue about race, racism 1/4
About what my teens see on their social media, in their schools, in their community and how they can respond, act, support, show empathy. Having these dialogues with my own children I believe can create a world where #BLM I also believe daily actions in schools & classrooms 3/4
Can have a bigger impact as we work on empathy, inclusion, equity. We must continue hard conversations for every child. The change we want, must see begins with each of us doing the work in our homes, schools, workplace and communities. Agree or Disagree. This is me. 4/4
