Funny angle to African elitism. Some join Americans to condemn killing of a black American in USA. Then turn around to join our govt to explain away killing of tens of Africans in Africa. That explaining is why your entire village’s life is not as valuable as that of one American
There is a new curve to African elitism that wants us to view and analyse western affairs to the standard that western citizens hold their governments, but expects us to view & analyse African affairs at a sub-par level. We have to reject this narrative. Consistently.
It should NEVER be okay that we are now coming to accept daily killings of Nigerians in Borno, Sokoto, Kaduna, Zamfara, etc as “normal”, hell, they barely even make the headlines anymore. We now measure human lives in numbers. While fathers, mothers, children & relatives weep.
We come on social media and go on TV with fancy suits and big English and explain away actual deaths of countrymen like chickens. So far as we have access to power, money or comfort, we are fine. We are wicked, insensitive and heartless. That’s what our society has made us.
Reject this narrative. We must scream as loud for every man that is murdered in Lagos, Abeokuta, Owerri, Onitsha or Kano, same way the world screams when one American is murdered in America

Living everyday as a Nigerian, knowing your life is technically worth little is sickening
Reject this narrative. Else you or your relative will be murdered in the street one day, and the elites you praise will explain it away and move on to the next fancy topic that’s the most burning priority to them. End.
