100% normal people, who 30 years ago would be the kind of people who just lived + knew nothing about politics or anything, are now forced to have a “political” persona and keep up with “everything”. its a lot of pressure and under the surface theyre cracking, they cant handle it

have you ever really thought about the amount of turmoil and emotional stress inflicted onto these “normal people” who are just meant to live and watch the office and walk their dog, now that theyre forced to social media LARP as an active participant in national + world politics

the average “normal person” is now way “more online” than the most insane nerdy crazy “basement dwelling” internet obsessive from 20 years ago, + theres no way for them to opt out of it. plus its politicized. its destroying their brain. not made for it. i feel really bad for them

when i see people who just post dog + friend + beach photos post the mandatory “yes i am well informed about this complex political issue” images, i have to laugh, otherwise i would cry, like seeing an animal forced into a job its not meant for, its body buckling under the weight
