I’ve participated only once in presidential elections as a voter and I have never attended any political party rally. I voted for MDC in everything that was on the papers, I didn’t even know the people I was voting for coz oh well I wasn’t into politics.....
At that time I never knew what MDC was all about in terms of values, never read their constitution, never knew much except one thing that was preached in my community i.e “Mugabe must go”. Well, I knew that the right thing to do was cast my vote and speak with one voice together
with my people & I did. That’s the first time I bothered with politics. I started wanting to know more about how we got to where we are and the more I researched, the more I got deeper and eventually ended up in non Zimbabwean politics. This was in 2013 by the way & I was 22.
I’m one person who questions things a lot and takes time before believing them too so I did question stuff I read and yea that’s the reason why I know what I know today about Pan Africanism, Liberation Struggles, Masonry, NATO, New world order, etc.
Because of the data or knowledge I accumulated and my then Christian values, I developed my own way of political thinking with regards to politics in the 21st century. I took note of what I stand for and no one really pressured me into any of it.
As an expressive person I took my thoughts to Facebook and yea some people used to inbox me telling me that my ideas are good and they will get me somewhere one day, sadly I didn’t take those words seriously coz I was just pushing a passion out of concern, seeing that ppl didn’t
Care much to dig deeper into the trouble we are in as Africans. That alone had me getting messages on my fb inbox, me being asked to join 3 ZIM political parties if I remember well but I refused all of them coz I felt I was too young and I surely wasn’t politically mature...
again we have all heard of the stories of how dirty politics is and that one can disappear or be killed etc....so I refused to be part of all & ontop of that I decided not to post political stuff on Facebook again coz I was attracting the “wrong crowd”
Time went on then we got to 2016....I had my fair share of life experiences and I started varsity (😊again, had dropped out of law school in 2012)...& in China I met guys from Ghana, Nigeria, Lesotho, South Africa, Kenya & a female from Tanzania who had Pan African thoughts...
maaan you don’t know the joy I felt knowing that there are young people who knew stuff I knew politically and were up to date with current affairs of many African countries etc.....that has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me in China.
I owe my knowledge to all of them and I’m grateful for all that I’ve gained from them from then till even yesterday as well as in the future.
Reason for my post:

It is important to know what your values are in life, not only should you know them but live them everyday, do not let anyone tell you otherwise about them....uphold them even if you are the only one doing so.
Do not join or follow a political party or movement because of peer pressure or its fame. Before you join in, read their constitution, match it with your political and personal values, if they match then join in and Crete change, if they don’t then wait, one for you will come.
In case you join in and you realise that what is on the constitution is not what is being practiced.....feel free to leave, you are not tied to them, National & Continental growth is all that matters.
Should you ever be ashamed of making such decisions in your life?

N E V E R
Does that make you a bad person?

N E V E R 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

It makes you you......do not accept nay sayers’ labeling of you after you have done so, rise up and position yourself among the youth that will change the face of Africa. The future is greater than the past.
