There's one thing I've learned about life, it starts to generate when you start to move your weight. There aren't jobs people are getting retrenched yes but that's not the end of life, don't be stagnant. /13
this is what's holding us back as a people, classism, leagues & standards. You got retrenched from a white collar job, now what you gonna do? Classism will jail you from keeping your livelihood moving. https://twitter.com/purplSmooch/status/1266237956118859782?s=19
I'm saying this because I work with old people, who were retrenched in the great retrenchment era of the year 2000. They worked at Dunlop, Steel Companies & all these shut down companies which boosted their pockets, esteem & social statuses, But this is Zimbabwe!
Ask them if they ever wanna get employed again. Negative! "I'm self established now, sent my kids to school, bought my car, finished my house. I'm too proud to follow someone's orders" this is someone who sells fruits & vegetables & of course established other streams of income.
in Zimbabwe education is promoted the most, hence the high literacy rate. We have to be educated yes but the system has to be revamped because to this day people go to school so they can get employed in a country that's got a 90% unemployment rate.
people sit at home after graduation because there aren't employment opportunities, because our educational system implicitly equips us for employment. So we're wired &/or educated to be workers instead of innovators, so if there aren't jobs we sit & wait. I don't blame us!
we need to change that system. Zim is largely an informal economy. Sadly part of the 10% employed people are doing a great job eradicating the informal sector. I applaud that, they are so educated they are employed to raid, harass & unemploy vendors out of their trade.
Our system is confused but I'm not gonna get into how it contradicts progress right now.
I was saying, when you move your weight, the land gets acquainted to you from various places you've walked on. Better a 12 year old who's traveled than a 60 year old homebody who's never gone anywhere for they know nothing & believe nothing. Ukuhamba ukubona!
i learned this only when I started selling bananas last year on March 7th. That when you walk you draw patterns, when your work you're creating a routine & a network. Things begin to add up out of movement, not stagnancy.
you will begin to measure distances, daily expenses, number of people you had a profitable talk with, knowledge you've gained & that will be the beginning of life in it's materialistic form, & you only get better at things that you constantly measure & keep record of.
my niece studied accounting in Europe, she returned to no employment opportunity, she is now a receptionist
She is moving her weight & that will enable her to be a chartered accountant one day. She broke out that classism of thinking she deserves a job.

You don't deserve u earn
so basically what I'm saying is. Don't let your academic achievements / societal status / your academic failures block you from creating a, or regatherimg your, life for yourself. There's enough land/space for everyone to work as there's enough sky for every bird to fly.
