Here's the full context yet again for people who need a refresher: someone asked for tags on a fanfic earlier this week, which caused a full scale meltdown in the Reylo fandom between people who thought that it was perfectly reasonable for someone to ask for a secondary platonic

relationship to be tagged and people who perceived asking an author to tag anything as criticism of the author and the work. The commenter on the fic in question's first language was not English and they were absolutely dogpiled by @/semperfidani among many others on ao3.

I tweeted something about how i thought it was perfectly fine for anyone to ask an author for any tag on any subject on their fics, and saw that Dani (because we were mutuals) had tweeted that "big name authors" were getting people to go after this author.

The attitude was something like, there is this secret group of BNA's who purposely are trying to keep Us Small Writers down!! Which is laughably... not true in the slightest, but I replied and I was like "it's still fine to ask for a tweet" and after an altercation where Dani

sarcastically accused me of not tagging SWW "correctly" and I screenshot the tags to show that I had, she blocked me.

On Wednesday, the whole city of Minneapolis was on fire and most of the fandom was trying to collect their shit and band together, we'd almost forgotten

that the Tag Discourse had happened.

Then Friday came along.

Dani wrote and published a fic on ao3 Friday specifically made to mock people who wanted tags for their shit. Instantly the Tagging Discourse blew back up, with I guess a lot more blowback than Dani had expected.

During all this, Real Life Neon was frantically running around an air base in 90 degree weather juggling 56 things trying to set up a contingency house by herself because Mr. Neon had gotten 24 hrs notice that we had an incoming family who needed to be quarantined for COVID.

So there I am, sweating my ass off after a two hour shift I'd had to fight over with my boss and stressing because everything's closed and I notice Jules who had literally been mutuals with me for years had blocked me on both accounts out of nowhere & was laughing about this fic.

So obviously there's my conclusion: jules had blocked me over either my endless retweeting of political posts (again, MINNEAPOLIS WAS ON FIRE) or the tag discourse, and if it was the tag discourse, I was furious because nobody should be mocked for asking for a fucking tag.

So I tweeted the above tweet with screenshots and went about my day. And of course someone sent it to her and she tweeted it talking about how the first tweet was supposed to be among friends and she's an innocent victim and I woke up to half my mutuals gone!

I am aware I come off a lot as an abrasive asshole. It's overcompensation for being raised in a religious cult that constantly tried to force me into a soft, submissive woman who did what she was told and never raised her voice and had no right to take up space and I am

working on that. My tone's on me.

I am also aware that Jules has blocked like half the women of color in this fandom, called one "as bad as antis" for pointing out double standards in art/fic created by men, and called people antis for not being into darkfic.

I also hate to think that people I really did like in this fandom don't bother to look more deeply into the context of situations and just take people at face value, which is why I made this thread" for context. I should have made it from the start but real life got in the way.

It was also pointed out to me that my use of the word "limpwristed" could be interpreted as a homophobic slur. it was absolutely not intended to be read as such, it was meant to convey spinelessness and I apologize for that choice of term or for anyone I hurt.
