also if you think you shouldn’t have to care about blm because it “isn’t relevant” in malaysia..... first of all you should know that anti-blackness runs rampant here. it doesn’t take much to see that.
secondly this mindset is indicative of your ignorance and lack of empathy... you’re just not going to care because you can’t seem to apply it to your own context?
systemic racism is deeply rooted in our society. anti-blackness and colorism in particular are incredibly normalised here, these sentiments so prevalent to the point where the most blatant racism does not provoke outcry

i know black people aren’t the only ones subject to discrimination here, but this doesn’t erase the hundreds of years of oppression. it doesn’t erase the shit they are put through every single day, all around the world.
yes, acknowledge the racism in this country and work to fix it, but don’t try to shift the attention away from the struggles of black people
shed light on the anti-blackness in our own community, educate yourself and those around you, sign petitions, donate if you can.
